Skimming the news articles, he's like a creepy mashup of Timothy McVeigh (explosives and lack of reaction to the fact his targets included kids) and the Unabomber (long, rambling manifesto).

There's a certain "fame whore" vibe. I'm reminded of another terrorist named Carlos the Jackal as portrayed in the miniseries Carlos. While Carlos seemed to be much more interested in money and women and staying outside of prison, he also liked the idea that he was some kind of worldwide celebrity, trying to pimp himself as a revolutionary idealist rather than someone who killed for $$$.

I'm sure that he's thrilled that he's now known globally and is deluded enough to think most people would read his stuff rather than piss on it. Also interviewing yourself? I think that speaks volumes of how in love with himself this guy is. Like many of his ilk, nothing of value exists outside of the surface of his skin therefore his statements of how he states that the deaths were bad but necessary, diminishing the value of their lives as less than his need to prove some "point." Anything that doesn't self-aggrandize himself or meet to his taste is "fair game."
